*********************************mIRC setup**********************************

This is a file to help you setup your mirc version 5.6 through 6.01
These helps were made by members of #ircwavplayers. If you still need help
do not hesitate to ask an @ op or + voice in #ircwavplayers. To return to
our room, type   /join #ircwavplayers 

If you have the newest mirc (versions 6.0 and up) It will NOT work with
most players. We encourage you to go get an older version of mirc and
delete the new one you have for the best experience with music channels.
To do that: Go to www.mircx.com/download.html to get mIRC 5.91
(32 bit for windows 98 and newer)

Now you are ready to set up your mirc.

1. Make sure your mirc is in (c:\mirc) or whatever your drive letter is.
If its not in that file, then you need to reinstall it.

2. This setup will set your mirc for the music to download to the default of
(ie) c:\mirc\sounds, which is the easiest way to do this.
 
3. In mirc, go to File/Options and look for all the words with a + sign on the
left side of them, click on the + sign and change it to a - sign.
This will open your full list.

4. Click on File/Options/Sounds/Request and make sure only the top box, 2nd, 3rd boxes
are checked, the 4th (listen) & 5th boxes (send nick) are unchecked. At Sound Folders,
make sure the bar shows the location of your wavs. To change it just click the bar below
it and browse to your wav folder.

5. Click on File/Options/Dcc/Options. On the Close Window line put a check mark in SEND
and GET. In the lower left boxes change the numbers to: 120, 120, 400(this will keep
your sends from timing out) put a 5 in the max dcc sends.

6. Make sure you are on mirc. Then hold down the alt key and hit the s key. Make sure
the packet size is 4096, and the top two boxes on the right are checked...[fast send] &
[minimize] and uncheck [fill spaces]. Then type your nick in the nick box, highlight a
readme or txt file in the middle box & click send. That will save the changes.

7. To speed up sends and gets go to file/options/irc/perform put a check in "on connect
perform these commands" and type in the white box /pdcc 115200 then hit enter, on next
line type /fsend on then click on OK

8. To get music type the following <nickname of person that played it> <name of file>
Like this --> !nickname lol.wav

9. When you want to play music like lol.wav Just type /sound lol.wav in your chat window
when in a channel. Come back to #ircwavplayers and test it. Type /join #ircwavplayers in
your mirc chat.

10. If you wish to use a music player, we recommend wavget. You can get it at www.wavget.com. It is
very important that during the install of it, you browse and change the default directory
to c:\mirc This will ensure it works well for you. The instructions for setting it up are
listed below.


********************************wavget setup*********************************

1. Did you install wavget in your main mirc folder? If no, stop now and reinstall it.
If yes, then please open wavget and put in your nick if it asks for it (if you haven't
already done that)

2. On the right bottom side of wavget, click on the folder icon (to the left of the speaker)
to bring up the setup box. Now in the setup box click on the options tab. On the left side,
put checks in boxes 1,2,3,4 and 7,8,9 only.

3. In the setup box, go to wavdir. In the 2nd box on left, scroll UP to your drive (c:\) and
double click, then down to mirc & double click again, then down to sounds & double click.
Now right click the sounds folder & when asked 'do you wish to add path' click YES.
At the bottom, put a check in "show all files from all dirs". Now does the bottom box say
c:\mirc\sounds? Does the top right box say *.wav? If yes to both, then close out the setup
box by clicking the big OK,top right. This step is very important that it be done properly.
If you have troubles, make sure you come to #ircwavplayers and ask for help.

4. In wavget, click Help, then click 'configure mirc' then click OK. Now close wavget.
Then re-open wavget by typing  /wavget  in the chat window. This is how to open it from now on.

5. The songs people play that you DON'T have will show up on the left side of wavget. If
you want one of those songs, just double click it. Then click accept on the window that pops up.
Then wait for it to finish downloading.

6. This is how you will play songs to the channel. On the right side of wavget, click once on
a sound you have there to highlight it (like lol.wav) Then click the speaker icon (bottom right).
If you double click it, only you will hear it, so don't double click it if you are trying to
play the sound in a channel.

7. Now we have finished the setup. Have fun with your wavget and remember to keep your plays &
gets of sounds 60 seconds apart to keep from flooding the channel.
